Photo gallery of main events 2024

On Saturday 28.9.2024 the opening of the main events of Agrinio Photopolis Photography Festival, dedicated to the environment and climate change, issues of particular importance and topicality, took place.
Within the framework of the festival, 300 photographs by 86 photographers from 27 countries were exhibited at the main events, capturing the effects of climate change, the relationship between man and the natural environment, and actions for the protection of the planet.
The audience response was excellent. People of all ages were present, actively participating in the discussions and expressing their concern for the future of the planet. The awareness raised by the art, combined with the strong presence of the public, highlighted Photopolis 2024 as an important hub for dialogue and reflection on environmental issues.
The successful festival raised the bar for future events, emphasising the connection between art and global problems and bringing to the fore the need for collective action. Photopolis 2024 left a positive cultural and social footprint, encouraging creativity, critical thinking and active citizen participation.
The venues that hosted the festival are important cultural monuments: the renovated building of the old Municipal Market of Agrinio, now a cultural space and the Christos Kapralos Art Gallery, two architectural masterpieces that belong to the local heritage, as well as the magnificent space of the Papastrateion Megaron of Agrinio. Exhibitions were also hosted at the “TAXIDEOUSA” Gallery and the central square of the city, the municipal cinema ELLINIS hosted the two-day cinema and the hall of the Music School of Agrinio hosted the screenings of student films.
