Photopolis Agrinio Photo Festival invites photographers to apply for its exhibition «Photofolios:23».
Submission period: December 1, 2022 to January 31, 2023.
Photographers are asked to submit 8 – 12 photographs from a particular project/series or body of work.
The theme has been left open.
Submissions must be photographic and they might also make use also of texts, graphic.
The selected six portfolios will be exhibited at the main events of the Festival.
The printouts of the photographs at the end of the festival will be destroyed.
Copyrights of the selected photographs belong exclusively to the photographers.
The cost for the submission of one portfolio is 10 euros. You may submit more than one portfolios.

The selection of the photography series will be based on the following characteristics: The coherence of the pictures as a united whole in terms of form and content, and the conceptual and/or aesthetic quality of the photos.
The decision of the Jury will be final.
Selected photographers must provide (send) high resolution files for printed production.
Winners will be announced on the homepage of the Photopolis Agrinio Photo Festival and contacted by e-mail.

Please put the photographs in a folder. The folder must be named by your Surname. Each photograph must be named as following: SURNAME_NAME_01 etc

A word or pdf document (up to 250 words) must accompany the series describing your project, as well as stating your name, phone, City, Country, email, your instagram and a brief Curiculum Vitae.

Eleni Mouzakiti
Photographer, Educational
Eleni Mouzakiti is a visual artist, educator and curator of photographic exhibitions and publications.
She studied German Language and Literature at the University of Athens, FU Berlin and Ruprecht-Karl University of Heidelberg.
She holds an MA in Image and Communication from Goldsmiths College, University of London and a PhD in Photography as an Art Practice from Derby University, UK.
Her photographic work has been presented in solo and group exhibitions and festivals internationally. Her works belong to the collection of the Portland Museum of Art, Oregon, USA, the Museum of Photography of Thessaloniki, the State Museum of Contemporary Art, the ACG Art Collection and other private collections.
Eleni has designed and taught the course of Photography Practice Theory and History at the Department of Fine Arts (Ioannina University), the Hellenic Center for Photography, the Athens School of Fine Arts (adult education program in photography) and in the postgraduate program – MA in Photography and Visual Language – of AKTO / Middlesex University, UK.
She has curated numerous photography exhibitions and publications and is a founding member of The Provinces, a platform that collects and promotes photographic projects that deal with the Greek periphery.
Committed to long- term projects in her artistic work she focuses on issues of ‘absorptive’ behavior in the public realm, leisure time geography, landscape as a fantasy of “belonging”
Lambros Papanikolatos
Photographer, Educator, Program leader BA (Hons) in photography AKTO art and design college
Lambros Papanikolatos studied Marketing Communication, Advertising & Multimedia in Greece and the Netherlands and continued with postgraduate studies in Photography in Prague (Academy of Performing Arts / FAMU). He received the Alexander S. Onassis Public Benefit Foundation Scholarship (1999-2001) for his MA studies and a Fulbright Grant to study/ research in New York (2003-2005).
He represented Greece at the Biennale of Young European Artists in Rome in 1999 and was awarded at the International Photographic Festival of Arles, (Les Rencontres d’Arles) France, in 2000. His works are part of the permanent collection of the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, USA.
From 2004 until today, he has been active in the fields of cultural production, curation, and communication, as well as research & development of educational programs. He has collaborated internationally with photography festivals such as Houston FotoFest, Festival of Light, Thessaloniki Photobiennale, etc., while in Greece, he co-organized masterclasses with internationally renowned artists (Antoine d’Agata, Michael Ackerman, J.H. Engstrom, etc.).
From 2016 to 2018, he taught in the adult education program in photography at the Athens School of Fine Arts (ASFA – ELKE). While from 2018, he has been a professor in the master’s program of Middlesex University, UK, in collaboration with AKTO College (MA in Photography and Visual Language, Module / Advanced Professional Photography).
From June 2022, he is the new director of AKTO’s Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Degree in Photography program in collaboration with Middlesex University, UK.

Photopolis Agrinio Photo Festival is announcing a photography contest themed “Street life”.
Participants are asked to send only one picture, depicting the above mentioned theme.
All entries must be sent by 31st Januaty 2023, until 23:59.
The selected fifteen photos will be printed and presented to the public in a photo exhibition, part of a series of events organized by Photopolis Agrinio Photo Festival.

Photopolis Agrinio Photo Festival, announces a motion picture competition and invites you to submit your work in the category: Short Films.
The submission of projects will last from 03/11/2022 to 31/12/2022.
The selected works will be part of the main events of the festival and will be screened at the Municipal Cinema (in Agrinio, GR) in September 2023.
